Perennial Border Planner

A border is easy to buy and hard to move. This planner gives you an hour of pencil work that shows the gaps (a bare month, a row of plants all the same height) while changing them still costs an eraser.

Describe the site, draw the bed to scale on grid pages, list the plants with height, spread and bloom months, then fill in the bloom calendar and the side view. The gap finder counts what is in bloom each month, and the shopping list turns the plan into a number of plants and a total.

The planner gives you the frame, not plant data: heights and bloom times come from your plant tags or your local extension office, so they match your climate.
